/ Vranje, September 25,2013. / After successfully completing a two-month basic computer training women clients of the SOS phone Vranje exposed to domestic violence and housed in the Shelter for victims of domestic violence in Vranje received certificates.

In celebration of 8th March – International Women’s Day – CSO Human Rights Committee Vranje / SOS Hotline Vranje and Gender Equality Council of the city of Vranje organized signing (renewal) of the Agreement on cooperation between Local network of CSO and the competent institutions of Vranje for help to women-victims and prevention of domestic violence.
Thanks to a donation of the Higher and Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Vranje, a team of volunteers of SOS telephone Vranje donated screen and speakers for home theater and toiletry packages to the Shelter for victims of domestic violence in Vranje.

Marc 2012. / On the occasion of March 8 – International Women’s Day – round table on „Domestic violence from recognition to institutional protection and the importance of the Ombudsman in terms of gender equality“ took place in Pcinja district offices in Vranje on March 4. Organized by SOS Hotline Vranje.
In early 2010, The Human Rights Committee Vranje – SOS Hotline Vranje released a study entitled“The work of the institutions in the protection against domestic violence in Pcinja district“ that covered period from January to December 2008 and from January to June 2009.
In Vranje, February 14, 2013 – SOS Hotline Vranje and Generator in cooperation with other CSOs organized campaign „One billion rising“. Event supported dance groups – „Dance 4 Life“, „Fenix“, „Top Dance“ – Bora Stankovic theater actors and public figures.
NGO Human Rights Committee Vranje organized the expert meeting of local network of institutions and civil society for combating domestic violence and assistance to women and children victims of domestic violence. It was a part of continuing professional education of professionals in Pcinja district through SOS Hotline Vranje for formation and operation of local networks for combating domestic violence.
The Human Rights Committee Vranje and SOS Hotline Vranje organized a presentation of the research „Exercising the right to legal support before judicial bodies in Vranje, Bujanovac and Bosilegrad“.
NGO Human Rights Committee Vranje and ASTRA Belgrade organized a round table entitled „Labor exploitation, illegal migration and trafficking in humans“ in Vranje .
About five hundred books were donated by citizens, a number of toys too and we provide funding for two TV sets – said Lidija Kovac, consultant of SOS Hotline Vranje that existed for ten years. It is the first and only in seven municipalities of Pcinja district where more and more cases of domestic violence recorded .
Per article 3. of The European Convention of Human Rights violence against women is a violation of a basic human Rights – right to personal and physical integrity. Out of ignorance or belief that in their problem no one can offer a solution, women rarely decide to seek help. However, the case of S.M. from Vranje is an example of good practice and proof that women can defend their rights before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
