/ July 7-9, 2015 / Within the framework of the Program of work and developing of Regional network of NGOs and institutions against violence against women in Pcinja District, Human Rights Committee Vranje – SOS Hotline Vranje organized a professional workshops entitled „A common response to violence against women in Pcinja District“.
Workshops were organized for representatives of NGOs and relevant institutions from 7 municipalities of Pcinja district and were intended primarily for professionals from relevant institutions and NGOs, which in previous years attended seminars and workshops on the recognition and prevention of violence against women, organized by theHuman Rights Committee Vranje / SOS Hotline Vranje and its partners.
The lecturer was Lidija Milanovic, associate of NGO “ IDEAS “ for the development of the social protection system from Belgrade and one of the experts in the field of working with victims of violence.
The objective of this expert workshop was a joint defining of obstacles in the realization of tasks, as well as defining of principles and common cross-sectoral work at the regional level (cross municipal cooperation of local teams).
The initiative for the establishing of the first Regional network for combating violence against women in Serbia – on December 9, 2014 – was signed by about 100 participants of the First Regional Conference against violence against women in Pcinja District, organized by the SOS Hotline Vranje with support from UN – UNDP Program for Serbia.
The importance of inter-sectoral cooperation and joint effective work of NGOs and professionals in combating domestic violence – today one of the leading problems in society – is defined by the General as well as Individual protocols relating to the work of the police, centers for social work, and education, health and justice institutions.
The creation of effective conditions for a rapid response to violence against women in the family and partners’ relationships is the obligation of the state of Serbia and of all its institutions within the framework of the application of the Convention of the Council of Europe on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence.
SOS Hotline Vranje organized several seminars and expert meetings on this topic.
