/ Bujanovac, 25. 11. 2014. / In the framework of the „With concerted efforts – toward European standards in the protection of women from gender-based violence“ and marking of the November 25 – International Day Against Violence Against Women and the beginning of the international campaign „16 Days of Activism“ Human Rights Committee Vranje / SOS Hotline Vranje and the Autonomous Women’s Center (AWC) Belgrade organized a round table „The importance of Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Fighting Violence against women “ in Bujanovac.
Council of Europe Convention against violence against women and domestic violence is the most comprehensive international treaty in this area. Its aim is to establish zero tolerance for various forms of violence to which women are exposed.
On the importance of the Convention of the Council of Europe speeches gave: Danijela Pesic, Autonomous Women’s Center Belgrade, Sasa Stamenkovic, MIA Serbia, PD Vranje, Dobrivoje Dimitrijevic, Center for Social Work Banja, Gordana Nikolic, Center for Social Work Presevo.
The round table covered by many local media from Presevo and Bujanovac, as well as the bureau of RTS in Vranje.
