/ Vranje, April 7,2017 / As part of the Anti Trafking network, The Human Rights Committee Vranje organized a round table in Vranje, titled „Problem of Human Trafficking“.
The speakers were: Miroslava Despotovic – Human Rights Committee Vranje, Katarina Ivanovic – Astra, Belgrade, Tatjana Nikolic – Coordinator of the Anti-Trafficking Network, Center for Girls, Niš and Danijela Milosavljević – President of the Local Network Vranje to combat trafficking in humans and the member of the City Counsel.
It points to the problem of human trafficking as a serious social threat and serious crime, which undermines basic human rights, the right to life, the right to choose and the right to freedom of movement. The meeting was attended by representatives of institutions, local government, schools, health care and non-governmental organizations from Vranje.
Anti Trafking network (AT Network) is a network of CSO against human trafficking, which in cooperation with relevant stakeholders, develops and conducts activities to prevent, reduce and resolve the problem of human trafficking at the state level and the local communities in the Rebublic of Serbia. Former Astra network, today Anti-Trafficking Network, created in 2002, is still active.
There are 8 members of the AT Network: ASTRA – Belgrade, SOS Hotline for Women and Children Victims of Violence – Vlasotince, Independent Women’s Center – Dimitrovgrad, the Human Rights Committee – Vranje, Center for Girls – Niš, Center for Women’s Rights – Vrsac, PAOR – Zrenjanin, Center for Girls – Uzice.
