/ November 25, 2015 Bosilegrad / On the occasion of November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and the beginning of the campaign „16 days of activism against violence against women“, Human Rights Committee Vranje – SOS Hotline Vranje and the Autonomous Women’s Center – Belgrade AWC held a round table on the implementation of Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women in the family, in Bosilegrad on Wednesday, November 25, 2015.
The round table held under the title „The CE Convention – Life without domestic violence and the work of local and regional network of institutions and NGOs in order to protect women from domestic violence.“
Participants included members of the local network of institutions and NGOs combating domestic violence, as well as representatives of the municipal administration of the Municipality Bosilegrad.
In the introductory part, the participants were addressed by Vladimir Zahariev, the Mayor of Bosilegrad.
Miroslava Despotovic from SOS Hotline Vranje, Julija Stosic, social worker of the Centre for Social Work Vranje and Sasa Stamenkovic, deputy commander of PD Vranje gave their speeches on the importance of the full implementation of the Convention and application of CE Special Protocol in the treatment of victims at CSW and the police in cases of domestic violence against women in partner relationships.
Memorandum of Cooperation between the municipality Bosilegrad and Human Rights Committee Vranje signed on the implementation of the program „Regional SOS Phone for women victims of domestic violence”.
