The first Regional Conference in Pcinja district COMMON RESPONSE TO VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN starting on Tuesday December 9, 2014 at 11 AM in the hall of the City Administration in Vranje organized by the Human Rights Committee Vranje / SOS Hotline Vranje.
It is supported by UN agency UNDP as a part of the national program of „Integrated response to violence against women „and under the auspices of the city of Vranje.
The conference is organized within the framework of the Global Campaign of Secretariat General of the United Nations „Unite to end violence against women“ (www.un.org/en/endviolence ).
First regional conference is also marking International campaign „16 days of activism against violence against women“ in the south of Serbia.
The theme of the conference is „The Istanbul Convention“ and obligations of Serbia and local governments on preventing and combating violence against women in the family with an emphasis on the obligation to take the necessary legislative or other measures to protect all victims from further violence.
Vesna Jaric, the representative of the United Nations and Coordinator of UNDP Program „Integrated response to violence against women in Serbia“, Gordana Stevanovic, Deputy Ombudsman for children’s rights and gender equality, Biljana Brankovic – independent researcher-consultant, Bojan Velickov, Councillor of the City of Vranje, Julija Stosic, social worker from CSW Vranje, Gordana Stojanovic, Multiple sclerosis association of Pcinja district, representatives of SOS Phone Vranje will address to the audience.
Participation in the conference confirmed the representatives of the Local network of institutions and NGOs from 7 municipalities of Pcinja district, representatives of the councils and the commissions, local governments and others.
