/ Jul y 10, 12, 2015 / Human Rights Committee Vranje, SOS phone Vranje organized a technical meeting with individuals and bodies – decision makers at the local level in Pcinja District.
Expert meeting „Joint Response to Violence Against Women in Pcinja District – ZERO TOLERANCE“, organized within the program of work and development of the SOS Regional Network of NGOs and institutions against violence against women in Pcinja District.
The lecturer was Biljana Brankovic, a member of the GREVIO Committee and a longtime researcher of the UN, an independent expert on the prevention of violence against women.
Biljana Brankovic is one of the ten members of the GREVIO Committee who are elected to this position from the independent experts in May 2015.
GREVIO Committee is an international monitoring mechanism of control of implementation of the CE Convention – the Istanbul Convention in each country.
Theme of the meeting was responsibility of the state to combat violence against women within the framework of the CE Convention application as well as the protection system and new services of the protection of women, the practice in Serbia and compliance with the Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence.
